I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Universidad EAFIT ​in Colombia. I study crime with particular emphasis on how to design alternative strategies to control illicit crops.

My work has been published in the International Journal of Drug Policy, the Journal of Development Studies, Social Problems, and Spatial Economic Analysis, among other journals.

My research has been also recognized by leading grants and awards, including the Graduate Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award in Social Science of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund.

I am also the vice-chair of the local organizing committee of the 20th World Congress of the International Economic Association—IEA.
