I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Universidad EAFIT ​in Colombia, and the Coordinator of the microeconomics area in the School of Economics and Finance.

I earned the 2018 Graduate Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award in Social Science of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, awarded every two years to outstanding research and scholarship.

I study crime with particular emphasis on how to design alternative strategies to control illicit crops. I co-organized the 2021 Conference of the Drug Study Network in Latin America–REDESDAL.
